The Church at Gun Hill is an Elim Pentecostal Church in Bowers Gifford, Essex.
The church was built in 1884 as a Congregational Church. Apparently, John Willsmer, the miller from nearby Pitsea, was one of the people responsible for the building of the church. Interesting pictures and information of that period can be found in at least three books published by local authors1.
In the 1940s, the building was bought by the Elim Pentecostal Church and has maintained a witness to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the Truth of God’s Word, the Bible, through the years and into the 21st century.
In addition to our Sunday services, we also meet on a Tuesday evening at 8.00pm for Bible Study.
